Drowning Education Awareness and Prevention (D.E.A.P.) Water Safety for Life is a locally based organization dedicated to the prevention of drowning in Shasta County. D.E.A.P. has been actively planning programs that promote education, drowning hazard awareness and prevention within Shasta County since 2007. We are dedicated to the prevention of accidental drowning in the home, pools, lakes and all other water sources. Our Mission: “To prevent drowning through education, drowning hazard awareness and
the giveaway of lifejackets, swimming lessons and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training within Shasta County." Our Vision: “ To create a water safe and water smart community where drowning and water-related injuries do not exist.” Our board consisting of three members is highly dedicated to our mission of preventing drowning in Shasta County. We have all directly, or indirectly, through family or friends, felt the effects of accidental drowning. We wish to reach out within the community with the message of first “prevention” and second, “be prepared in the event of a water-related emergency.” We encourage people to be “water safe" and "water smart.” We welcome the community to attend meetings of our Board.
